Technical Manager

In our plant in Flen, in the heart of Södermanlands län, we produce ice-cream and offer our appreciated brands such as GB Glace, Magnum, Solero to our customers in Europe and other parts of the world. Our brands stand for quality, service and innovation.

The plant is currently undergoing a transformation process towards an automated and digital manufacturing unit which will continue for several years to come. Substantial investments have been and will be made. The Technical Manager has a crucial role in driving and implementing new technology and machinery and subsequently provide for relevant training and skills development of staff. You will lead a capable team of 16 subordinates who work with maintenance, spare parts and service. 

Among other important responsibilities you will find:

  • Foster the development of team & drive for excellence in execution
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership
  • Lead cross-functional teamwork
  • Proactively drive the adherence to site fundamentals, i.e., Safety, Quality, Service.
  • Lead Process Safety Management program for the Flen site
  • Management of all utilities, maintenance, & engineering at site
  • Engineering budget
  • Development and delivery of multi-year maintenance and engineering strategy to deliver critical KPI s for Supply Chain/Operations.
  • Leading and facilitating the Progressive Maintenance Pillar under the World Class Manufacturing framework.
  • Proactively develop practices and methodologies that increase the effectiveness and reduce the costs of engineering
  • Technical asset management from early equipment management, project management (i. e. design, installation, vertical start-up), optimization, maintenance and retirement
  • Ensure delivery of scope, time, budget and cash flow for all projects
  • Drive initiatives that improve operational efficiencies

The Technical Manager reports to Operations Manager and is located in Flen.

Our candidate
We look for a confident leader with a technical background, with advantage educated at university level. You have several years’ experience of technical management from the process industry, preferably from an advanced automated production site of food or pharmaceutical production. You also have:

  • Led successful automation projects
  • Broad experience of planning, organizing and implementing capital projects
  • A solid network among machinery suppliers in Europe
  • Good financial understanding
  • Good command of both Swedish and English
